(Kajang 6/10) The Episcopal Ordination and Installation of the Kuala Lumpur Roman Catholic Church Most Rev Father Julian Leow Beng Kim was held today; he became the 1st Ethnic Chinese and the 4th Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur. With over 10,000 followers gathered at Church of the Holy Family in Kajang in witnessing this blessed and historical event.

The 50-years old Julian Leow Beng Kim’s appointment as the Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur Arch diocese was made by the Apostolic Nuncio on the 4th of July this year; taking over from Archbishop Emeritus Tan Sri Murphy Pakiam who retired on 13th of December.

This rare and auspicious installation started at 10am, the entire ceremony lasted 4 hours, but thousands of followers started to gather at the church as early as 7 am, among those who were present included the foreign dignities, representatives from other religions, bishops, priests and parishioners.
