KUALA LUMPUR – Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Shahidan slammed Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) leaders currently holding anti-Sedition Act roadshow in Australia for tarnishing the country’s image.

He believed the PKR leaders were giving foreigners the wrong impression of the Barisan Nasional (BN) government.

“I don’t agree in the act of condemning your country in overseas, regardless of whether it is targeted on political party leaders or party leaders that govern the country.”

“You (PKR leaders) go abroad to reproach this country, then you return to Malaysia and ultimately meet the people you insult. This is just like how you have insulted the police yet still asking help from them,” he said.

He emphasized that the opposition leaders’ explanation in foreign countries was not helpful in resolving the domestic issues and ultimately the matters still need to be solved from within.

He is also a member of Umno Supreme Council. He spoke to the media at Deepavali open house at Putra World Trade Centre in response to PKR leaders holding roadshows in five cities of Australia on its de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar’s sodomy appeal and Sedition Act issues.

PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli, Strategy Director Sim Tze Tzin and environment bureau chief Lee Chean Chung are currently visiting Australia.
