He points out that China ensures the target sum would be achieved while all signs are showing positive signals. Both countries have similar commitment.
Yang says this in a joint press conference after meeting Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin.

Yang does not mention clearly what are those meaningful basic infrastructure projects. He also does not touch on sovereignty claim on South China Sea.

Enhance mutual understanding

However, Hishammuddin stresses during the press conference that both countries should build good relations on defence, enhance mutual understanding to face possible problems on sensitive areas.

He says our government will actively promote collaboration of both countries in defence industry. In future, collaboration can be enhanced to combat militants.

He reveals that mutual trust between Malaysia and China is built through frequent mutual visits of both countries where both are willing to establish regional stability.

“Our bilateral ties with China are not only built on trade and economy, politics, geographical politics, military and enforcement collaboration but also on mutual visits by people.”

He says Kuala Lumpur and Beijing’s ties can be extended to Guangzhou and Malacca to have more economic investment. In addition, collaboration ties can also be established with political parties to groom young leaders who understand all kinds of challenges faced by both countries in future.

“I am happy that you are here to visit. I believe matters that we agree should be carried out in concrete move to navigate jointly on this path to establish security and stability.”

He points out that collaboration on MH370 is a good proof. Such collaboration does not have any other agenda but for transparency and pursuit of truth.

Yang Jiechi: China encourages its citizens to visit Malaysia

He welcomes Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib’s visit to China to attend the meeting of Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation in November. By then both sides would have bilateral meeting. The face to face meetings between Malaysian and Chinese leaders are important in terms of maintaining ties.

He said both countries should deepen strategic partnership ties in a comprehensive manner.
