(Putrajaya 7/10) The Education Minister II cum UMNO Supreme Councilor Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh urges UMNO members better not to provoke sensitive issues like the closing down of Chinese vernacular primary schools.

However he said, within the spirit of democracy, UMNO representatives have their rights to put forward motion or debate any issues during the UMNO General Assembly.

He said that if there are motion raise on issues relating to the closing down of Chinese vernacular primary schools, then the representatives can debate on the matter; because party representatives have the right to put forward a motion and also debate on issues raised.

He was responding to the suggestion from Petaling Jaya Utara UMNO deputy youth chief Mohamad Azli to discuss the abolishing of Chinese vernacular primary school during the party’s upcoming general assembly at the press conference held at the department of Education and Higher Learning.

When being asked with regards to BN component party members’ objection on UMNO representatives debating on closing down of Chinese vernacular primary schools, Idris said, “This is normal.”
