Mandy Kang: Charity dinner in Kelantan slapped with summons unrelated to attire

(Kota Bharu, 1 June) “Mrs. Asia” charity dinner organizer Mandy Kang has clarified that the event, which was said to have been slapped with a summons issued by Islamic affairs officer due to sexy outfits, was a misunderstanding.
Based on enquiries made by Sin Chew Daily from the hotel management where the event was held, the event was slapped with summons issued by enforcement officers of Kota Bharu Municipal Council for no application of show permit.
“The event, attended mainly by Chinese. The fashion show was in descent attire.”
Su Wei Ling, head of Kota Bharu Wanita MCA revealed yesterday that the “Mrs. Asia” charity dinner was slapped with summons issued by Islamic affairs officers for sexy outfits.
Kang denied the matter when asked today.
The event, held in 2015, was organized by Kang, second runner up in Mrs. Asia for charity. A total of 10 Mrs. Asia participated in the event. They took part in fashion show.
