Kuala Lumpur, Jan 17 – President of the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Hua Zong) Tan Sri Pheng Yin Huah said Malaysian entrepreneurs would be able to venture into the huge economic and trade market brought by the “One Belt One Road” concept through the tie-ups between Chinese and Malay business sectors.
He said it has been very heartening to note that Malaysian government had indicated the support of “One Belt One Road” initiative promulgated by China, Chinese businessmen in the country should grab this opportunity to make a fortune of it.
He was commenting on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib’s statement made when opening the Hua Zong new building yesterday of which Najib had encouraged Chinese and Malay to set up joint venture.
Najib had said that Malaysian government fully supports the “One Belt One Road” concept initiated by the Chinese government; he also urged Malaysian Chinese businessmen and bumiputra businessmen to strengthen their cooperation to form a cross race business alliance in exploring more business opportunities.
In a statement issued today, Pheng Yin Huah said Hua Zong supported PM’s idea and suggestion; bumiputra businessmen could assist Chinese businessmen in tackling the halal market, while Chinese businessmen could help the bumiputra businessmen to venture into other business areas creating a win-win situation.
In addition, he is also thankful to Najib for presenting two big gifts to Hua Zong when opening the Wisma Hua Zong, i.e. announcing the allocation of additional RM3mil to Hua Zong’s building fund and the contribution of a set of Chinese books with the title “Complete Collection of Four Branches of Books” to Hua Zong library.
“He had presented big gifts to Hua Zong in both occasions when he came to Hua Zong, the first being the announcement of the allocation of RM5mil to Hua Zong and the exemption of tax on the funds raised by Hua Zong four years ago when he was invited to the ground-breaking ceremony of Wisma Hua Zong, and now he again presented two big gifts to Hua Zong, this showed Najib’s concern for Chinese community and Hua Zong.
On behalf of Hua Zong, he also thanked Chinese community for their support and cooperation, especially the invited guests attending the opening ceremony yesterday, the initiators, leaders, media and all the staff who had enabled the function to go on smoothly.
He opined that the successful opening of the Hua Zong building was the symbol of solidarity of the Chinese community.
He vowed to continue with the endeavor together with his Hua Zong teammates to serve the Chinese community as a gesture in paying back the Chinese community for their trust, expectation and supports in Hua Zong.
