(Perak, Teluk Intan 10 December) Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Mah Siew Keong says the 1Malaysia Chinese Hawkers Micro Credit Scheme has negotiated with Malaysian Hawkers Association to draft a new set of application procedure in order to speed up loan approval.
Speaking at the Teluk Intan Leaning Tower Square where he launched the opening ceremony for southern Malaysia’s group under the Malaysia Hawkers Association for a dialogue session, he says once the new application procedure is kick-started, Chinese hawkers who fulfil the requirement will receive the loan after one month of application.
Loan sum of RM7million to be disbursed in a month
Prior to this, applicants from East Malaysia receive the loan more than one month later due to delay by mail.
He anticipates the fund would have released RM7million of loan sum by December.
He reveals more than 400 Chinese hawkers have received the loan. The loan sum is either RM5,000, RM10,000 or RM15,000. More than 600 Chinese hawkers have applied for the loan. Their applications would be approved in stages.
