Seremban, Dec 14 – President of the Federation of Kwang Tung Associations Malaysia Tan Sri Koo Yuen Kim said, whoever fight for the rights of the Chinese community would get the votes of the Chinese.

He stressed that regardless who the candidate is and immaterial whether he is a minister, as long as he would fight for the deserving rights of the Chinese, he would be getting the votes from Chinese electorates.

He opined that since Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib had called for Malay unity, Chinese of different origins should also reunite and return to the fold.

Negeri Sembilan Kwang Tung Association celebrates 75th anniversary

He said this in his speech delivered at the 75th anniversary dinner of the Negeri Sembilan Kwang Tung Association last night.

He said apart from the need for the Chinese community to be united in safeguarding their rights, all Chinese based political parties including Chinese leaders who hold official post and Chinese ministers should also fight for the rights of the Chinese.

“When we go to China to trace our own roots and promoting cultural activities, we must also understand the sources of different origins among the Chinese community.”

He said even though there are Cantonese, Hainanese, Hakka, Hokkien and Teo Chiew in Malaysia, the Chinese community could also be strong as long as they would cooperate with each other, be united and to return to the fold.
