Boon Hon Liong: Chinese no longer a minority group under One Belt One Road

(Kuala Lumpur 7 Dec) Malaysia Chinese Chamber of Commerce president Datuk Bong Hon Liong says after China launches its strategy of One Belt One Road, it has stressed shouldering fate of a community and diluted national boundaries.

He says despite the population of Chinese has dropped by 25%, under the new strategy, Malaysian Chinese would be the “citizen” of One Belt One Road.

In receiving a visit by a delegation from China, China First Metallurgical Construction Group Co, Ltd. (CFMCC) Bong today says the great strategy of One Belt One Road has combined the fate of 60 countries and the region. Malaysia is one of the core development areas.

He is also glad that China has increased its development projects in Malaysia in a large margin including taking up mega projects and the influx of technical workers.

Under such circumstances, he says Malaysian Chinese is no longer minority group. They can sense the presence of more than 1 billion people utilizing their strength together in One Belt One Road Development.

He points out that CFMCC is a large size enterprise controlling large volume of resources, capitals and projects including mega system project, high rise construction, machinery, electronics, electrical, petroleum, chemical engineering, textile, logistics, telecommunications and construction materials. In Malaysia it has various projects.

Bong also raises that the announcement made by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang offering Malaysians 50 billion Yuan of RQFII and purchase of Malaysian bond have stabilized Malaysia’s currency. It benefits financial collaboration of two countries in future.

He believes driven by China, Malaysia and China are capable of reaching the target of USD160 billion in bilateral trade in 2017.

Liu Yi Ming: CFMCC explores business opportunities in overseas

Liu Yi Ming, general manager of CFMCC says the group belongs to corporations owned by Chinese Government, following policy of Chinese Government to source for collaboration projects in overseas.

He says the group has identified many collaboration opportunities in Malaysia to explore new model of development.
He says the group has 60 years of experience in managing expressway, power generation, waste water treatment and comprehensive projects.
