Just think rationally. If the “joke” was created by a non-Muslim, what will be the consequences? Will the police and state Exco members consider the case as a mere misunderstanding?

Why did our beloved country Malaysia sink to the level as a poor debt ridden nation with aggressive citizens? The main reason was we had bred and tolerated too many people who had this type of “Drinking urine” mentality.

Two years ago a similar incident happened in a school when the school authority forced the students to have their meals in the changing room which created a huge uproar. These teachers never learned from the past. Again they created a similar issue which really saddened the public. As teachers, they should guide their students with their words and actions which are very important especially during the fasting month. Without a good “mouth”, how to inculcate good moral values to the pupils?

During the fasting month, one should experience the hardship faced by the poor by abstaining food and drink, be compassionate to others, practise self-control and treat the fast as a spiritual introspection. During this holy month teachers should follow the school regulations strictly and they should not abuse innocent school children with extreme remarks.

Living in a multi-religious country we should respect the fasting rule of our Muslim brothers and avoid drinking or eating in front of them. As an educator, one should not order children to drink in the toilet or if there is no water, one can drink the tap water or your own urine.

It is a wonder why in a big school with a big compound (especially national primary school which is well equipped with all the facilities), cannot allocate a rest place or gazebo (pondok) for the children to eat and drink. Why should the children be forced to drink in a filthy toilet? What is the teacher’s intention? Has he attended any Health Science class before?

Many government departments are loaded with problems but no remedy is being taken to ratify them and eventually the weaknesses become more critical. This is just like the Ministry of Education. With the protection of the police and state Exco members, the Ministry has manufactured batches and batches of “Drinking urine” teachers. How do you expect the quality of children under the guidance of these “Drinking urine” teachers to be good?

Is Malaysia no longer a secular state?

A female athlete was accused for overexposing herself. Although the contentious issue of a woman who was forced to wear a sarong at JPJ had just ended, another similar case involving a reporter and a woman were barred from entering the Selangor State Secretariat building on the grounds that they were wearing short skirts happened again. They are asked to put on a sarong before entering the building. These incidents really made us wonder whether Malaysia is still a secular or a strict Islamic state.

Too many “bosses” are giving out orders, regulations are vague, enforcement is not strict and little Napoleons are abusing their power. All these are causing a continuous stream of wrong doings. In Malaysia we are still practising outdated rules, quarrelling in joy, exacting extreme revenge, burning service centers, splashing oil paint at other people’s doors and yet can go scot free.

In recent years, the extremists had provoked many sensitive issues like Chinese were not loyal to the nation, “Kangkong” issue , “Pendatang” issue, boycott Chinese traders and the latest “Drinking urine” incident which were too much to stomach. Isn’t there any reprimand on those who utter such insensitive remarks?

The national leaders are not showing a good example. Every day they are busy digging others’ scandal. They quarrelled incessantly. When do they have the time, energy and concentration to manage national affairs and overcome the Rakyat’s hardship?

Confusion arises and the treacherous officials are in power. Our nation is just like a ship without a Captain, sailing on the great open seas. This ship is leaking and sinking but the sailors are still fighting with each other. Soon the passengers on the ship will be swallowed by the big tidal waves.

When can we sing the national anthem “Negaraku” with pride and not the “Drinking urine” song?
