(Kuala Lumpur, 8 June) DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng cum Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng says no mediator is needed for matters between PAS and DAP. If PAS wants to talk, then talk to DAP directly.

PKR president Wan Azizah has announced last night that the party would be playing the role of mediator to arrange for representatives of PAS and DAP to meet to express the wish of PKR having collaboration of three parties.

Lim praised former PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu for being a principled man instead of one who insisted on remaining in his position in a press conference at Parliament Lobby today.

“The question is, why don’t the top level of PAS leadership emulate Mohamad Sabu?”

PAS should instruct all its representatives in Penang to resign from government positions

He opines that Penang is ruled by DAP. PAS should instruct its representatives to resign from all positions in Penang state government and agencies to reflect dignity of PAS.

Since PAS has passed the motion of severing ties with DAP at its muktamar, it should start from Penang state government, instructing all its representatives to resign.

He also assures that the resignation of 100 representatives from PAS in Penang state government agencies, village committee and other agencies would be accepted. Their vacancies would be filled by Muslims or Malays.

Lim said: “PAS does not have any excuse in Penang because I am the Penang Chief Minister. Now that they are severing ties with my party. How do they work with state government? For sure this is impossible.”

As to PAS saying that the motion has to be decided by Ulama Consultative Council, Lim said PAS delegates have accepted the motion without debate at the muktamar. He said: “If this is so, then why use the word diterima and not dirujuk?”
