At the 56th PAS youth wing assembly, Suhaizan, the defeated PAS youth chief, asked: “How can we forget general elections in 1986 where PAS contested 98 parliamentary seats but only won one seat? Do we want to be suppressed again?”

The statistic is clear. In the 13th general election, 5,623,984 votes or 50.87% of votes were given to Pakatan Rakyat. Suhaizan sees this: “If we are careless or betray people’s expectation, I am worried that people would punish us in the next general election.”

Suhaizan, a young man who is far sighted and sharp. He foresees the future political landscape of the country. If Pakatan Rakyat wins 13 states, some of these head of states and Menteri Besar would be from PAS.

PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu also said the same thing. Once Pakatan Rakyat rules, state assemblymen of PAS can be the Menteri Besar in 8 states. State assemblymen from PAS would have priority to be Menteri Besar in Perlis, Kedah, Terengganu and Pahang, Johor, Malacca, Negeri Sembilan and Perak.

However, the Ulama wing decided in the muktamar to propose that the Ulama wing and central committee to severe ties with DAP but continued to remain in Pakatan Rakyat. How is PAS going to take Putrajaya?

It has lost Terengganu and Kedah before. But the party has yet to sense people’s hearts and damage the golden brand of “PAS for all” on its own. Ulama has limited the territory of the party and also cut the extension of two-party system. If this is so, who would be making the effort to travel home in order to vote for the future of the country? The bitter lesson in 1986 would be repeated. PAS is facing a dead end. The party does not need to wait till vote count in 14th general election. The moon no longer represents Chinese community. Hadi wins but PAS loses. What significance would this have?
