Shah Alam, Oct 29 – Seven parents of the three Chinese primary schools, i.e. SJK(C) Puay Chai 2, SJK (C) Yuk Chai, Taman Megah, Petaling Jaya and SJK (C) Lick Hung, Subang Jaya today lodged report at the Shah Alam education department against the school headmasters for alleged abuse of power and fraudulence of money.
They demanded the department to pay close attention to the problems and not to indulge and condone the act.
However, SJK(C) Puay Chai 2 had refuted the allegation, while former school headmaster of SJK (C) Yuk Chai Wu Qingliang declined to respond to the allegation, and head master of SJK (C) Lick Hung was absent today and could not be contacted.
Seven parents from the three SJK(C) had sent a memorandum to Selangor education department. They had fixed appointment to see the deputy-director but had failed to see the latter when arrived at the department, in the end they were led to meet with the public relation officer of the department.
The leader of the group who is also parent of the SJK(C) Puay Chai 2 Liang Qianda said, every time when they made complaint to the state department of education regarding fraudulence of funds in school campus, they were told to make report with the police and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
“When we lodged report with the relevant authorities, we were informed that since the schools’ Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) was registered under the state department of education, the matter will have to refer to the said department but until today the problem has yet to be solved.”
He added that he and other parents had in their possession lots of evident showing malpractices in school funds, fraudulence in the PTA general assembly and unlawfully opened up multiple bank accounts.
“President of Lick Hung had brought up the issue to the court for justice.”
SJK(C) Puay Chai 2 PTA chairman refuted the allegation by saying that the school headmaster did not interfere in the affairs of PTA, the PTA has absolute autonomy.
He admitted that PTA had opened two bank accounts, there was a dispute over the matter and he had explained to the education department.
“We organized fundraising campaign to raise fund for the building of covered basketball field, the three organisations of the school were working closely, and allowance was paid to the teachers for their work.”
He said the PTA had make concessions to avoid trouble as they understand that if the matter gets worsening, the Chinese education will be suffered, now that the Chinese education was in the difficult situation, they did not want to add insult to injury.
